Asset Module Preferences

Asset module preferences allow you to tailor the user interface and behavior of the system to best reflect the business process at your organization. Default preferences can be set at the level of the Repair Center, and then further modified to reflect your personal preferences.

Access Asset module preferences:

  1. Select Tools > Preferences from the Main Menu.

The Preferences for the currently accessed module will be displayed.

  2. Click the Asset folder in the Module/Category menu on the left.

The page refreshes, displaying preferences for the Asset module.

The following preferences are available for the Asset module:

  • Barcode Formats: Barcode format to be used.

  • Defaults: Preference that indicates whether or not work order generation from preventive maintenance schedules should be suppressed if the asset is not in service.

  • List: List preferences are available for each module in the system. These preferences affect the records shown in the List pane. Preferences for the Asset module include:

    • Toggles to determine when list results should be refreshed.

    • The number or records that should be displayed per page on the Asset List.

    • The order by which assets should be displayed in the list.

    • Options to define up to three types of conditional formatting to alter the appearance of records in the Asset List.

For example, you could specify custom formatting for assets from a particular shop, or assets that are not in service. Access Accruent Access for a document providing detailed instructions and examples.

  • Options: Options that determine the method by which Asset IDs are generated.

  • Settings: Settings that impact the behavior of the Asset module and determine:

    • The maximum number of nodes that should be read in the Asset List. If the number of nodes is exceeded, the Asset List automatically displays in Search mode. This mode allows for faster display of large volumes of records.

    • Whether or not customer ID should be a component of the Asset ID.

    • Threshold before a warning should occur when the asset associated with date-based PM Schedules is returned to service.
